Brough is a traditional crofting & fishing village, well that was true until the late 20th century when the cheviot and the milk cow gradually made way for horses, commuters and the retired.
Fortunately there are still a herd of Highland cows in the village, a few sheep and there are a few hardy folk who cut the peats on Dunnet Head
A few boat venture out from Brough harbour to catch the mighty cod in the Pentland firth
