On Foffy das the foghorn would blast the same message.\r\n \r\nLocated on the furthest most tip of the Scottish mainland, looking down almost 300ft to the treacherous waters of the Pentland Firth with the Island of Hoy just 7 miles away.\r\n \r\nThe lighthouse was manned by 3 lighthouse keepers, living with their families in the houses. There was also a full time local assistant and a part time occasional assistant.
